Here's a few backcountry safety tips.

    Know before you go.

We highly recommend taking the appropriate courses to educate yourself on the risks and protocol for backcountry skiing or booking a guide for your first adventures to make sure you have fun safely.

    Pack it in.

Be sure you take plenty of water and food for your day’s adventure. May we suggest a sambo from one of our local delis?

    Pack it out.

No one likes a litter-er. Leave the park like you found it, and if you find someone else’s trash along the way, do Mother Nature a favor and pick that up too.

    Gear up.

If you own your own gear, make sure it’s tuned up from last year and ready to go. If you don’t, our pals over at Kent Mountain Adventure Center will hook you up.

    Watch the weather.

Those Rocky Mountains sure are rocky. And unpredictable. Be prepared for unexpected storms, temperature drops and of course, always check the avy report before you go.

    Pup-less Parks.

As much as we love dogs, they’re not allowed in National Parks. Luckily, the Ridgeline offers pet-friendly rooms, should they need a place to crash during your stay.
